Overview

Every day, social workers help people exercise their rights, make important decisions, stay safe and remain connected to the people and communities that matter to them.  As demand, complexity and expectations continue to grow, the profession needs a clear and shared direction for the future.

The strategy sets out a shared vision that by 2040, social work with adults in England will be a confident, influential and highly-regarded profession at the heart of a preventative, community based care system.

The strategy has been brought together by ΢΢²ÝÊÓƵ and , and developed with social workers, people with lived experience, employers and sector partners.

It connects social work with adults to the wider future of adult social care through the Workforce Strategy for Adult Social Care in England.
