This #GoodNewsFriday we hear about a fun cheese-tasting event which took place in a nursing home.
Family members at Gibraltar Nursing ΢΢²ÝÊÓƵ in Monmouth marked National Cheese Day with a cosy afternoon of tasting in the home's Pillars restaurant.
Tables were dressed with golden runners and piled high with cheeses from around the world, from camembert and goat’s cheese to stilton, mature cheddars and Wensleydale. There was also softer herb‑infused options so everyone could join in.
Olives, grapes, breadsticks and more added plenty of mix‑and‑match fun, with ruby port and lemonade on hand for refreshments.
The relaxed atmosphere brought people together, including visiting relatives and even former team members who dropped in to join the celebration.
A standout moment came when Anthony, who insisted he didn’t like olives, tried one after watching team member Tracy enjoy hers - and ended up eating the whole dish to everyone’s amusement.
Team member Tracy shared:
Events like these are a great way to spark curiosity and share new experiences while getting something tasty out of it. Everyone had a brie-lliant time!
